Our faith (and our life, for that matter) is not for our own sake, but for the sake of the world. God’s Spirit is in us so we will be vessels of God’s love for others.
God’s grace brings miracles out of the most mundane things, and even our pain and struggles.
We are baptized into the Body of Christ. Christ is the brain and nerve; we are the muscles. So we listen for Christ’s leading, so that we can respond faithfully and do God’s will.
The magi remind us to keep searching for God in our daily lives.
Jesus is God’s “kulning,” God’s calling song, present among us, calling us home to God.
The promise of Christmas is that God is at work in you. God chooses you to bring God’s love into the world. Trust this, and you will know deep blessing.
Christmas isn’t sentimental: it means God’s justice. We anticipate the coming of that realm by living as if it is already here– and so it is!
