We are RECEIVED as the Beloved of God

PRELUDE

WELCOME

OPENING PRAYER
As we quiet ourselves and come together in a spirit of worship, each from our own homes, help us to open ourselves to feel your presence, Dear Lord. Open our minds to hear the Good News through scriptures and song, that we may come a bit closer to knowing your will for us. Open our hearts ; fill them with your abundant love. Give us the strength to share that love with those we know and those who need to know your love throughout the world. Your comfort is a blessing and gives us hope especially in these challenging times when we often feel alone.
Open our eyes that we may recognize you in our everyday lives so we can say with true joy and thanks, “I saw God today”. God is with us and loves us always. With thankful hearts for your abundant blessings, we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen

We are TRANSFORMED by the Word of Jesus Christ

GENESIS 3:8-10
8 When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the Lord God among the trees. 9 Then the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”
10 He replied, “I heard you walking in the garden, so I hid. I was afraid because I was naked.”

LUKE 19:1-10
Jesus entered Jericho and made his way through the town. 2 There was a man there named Zacchaeus. He was the chief tax collector in the region, and he had become very rich. 3 He tried to get a look at Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowd. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree beside the road, for Jesus was going to pass that way.
5 When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name. “Zacchaeus!” he said. “Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today.”
6 Zacchaeus quickly climbed down and took Jesus to his house in great excitement and joy. 7 But the people were displeased. “He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner,” they grumbled.
8 Meanwhile, Zacchaeus stood before the Lord and said, “I will give half my wealth to the poor, Lord, and if I have cheated people on their taxes, I will give them back four times as much!”
9 Jesus responded, “Salvation has come to this home today, for this man has shown himself to be a true son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.

RESPONSE TO GOD’S GRACE (OFFERING)
Pastor: God wants our love more than God wants our offerings; God cares about our hearts not the amounts of our offerings. (Hosea 6:6).
All: As we count all the blessings God has already given to us, we cheerfully give our offerings to God, the Provider, with grateful hearts. Amen! (2 Corinthians 9:7).
