We are TRANSFORMED by the Word of God
Mark 8:34-37
Jesus called the crowd to Him along with His disciples and said, “If any of you wants to be My disciple, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow Me.” If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for My sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
Colossians 3:8-10
Now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.
GOOD NEWS – Being Freed
Have you blamed others for your brokenness/addictions/sins? Have you victimized yourself in using of what you are addicted to? Jesus tells you, “Give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow Me” (Mark 8:34b). This Sunday, we are going to learn what He meant by it in the connection to God’s recovery program. And we will also learn a practical way from Step Eight of the Twelve Steps to practice it.

RESPONSE TO GOD’S GRACE (OFFERING)
Pastor: God wants our love more than God wants our offerings; God cares about our hearts not the amounts of our offerings. (Hosea 6:6).
All: As we count all the blessings God has already given to us, we cheerfully give our offerings to God, the Provider, with grateful hearts. Amen! (2 Corinthians 9:7).
