God calls us, to make use of our ordinary lives for the sake of the healing of the world. We may feel inadequate or weary, but God can bring about miraculous things through us.
Our assumptions about what is “normal” and who is “in” and who is “out” blind us to God’s presence, since God is an outsider to our society. Jesus declares all of us “normal,” all of us “insiders.”
Our faith (and our life, for that matter) is not for our own sake, but for the sake of the world. God’s Spirit is in us so we will be vessels of God’s love for others.
We are baptized into the Body of Christ. Christ is the brain and nerve; we are the muscles. So we listen for Christ’s leading, so that we can respond faithfully and do God’s will.
