You Are What You “Eat”

As Lent begins this coming Wednesday, we are reminded of Jesus’ life in the wilderness, enduring temptations and preparing His ministry. As you face life-challenges and temptations in your wilderness-like daily life, where do you find God’s strength to help you to deal with them and overcome them? This Sunday, we are going to reflect on what the Bible has to say about this question.

Being Freed from Brokenness/Addictions/Sins part 5

Have you blamed others for your brokenness/addictions/sins? Have you victimized yourself in using of what you are addicted to? Jesus tells you, “Give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow Me” (Mark 8:34b). This Sunday, we are going to learn what He meant by it in the connection to God’s recovery program. And we will also learn a practical way from Step Eight of the Twelve Steps to practice it.

Being Freed from Brokenness/Addictions/Sins part 4

God is able and willing to set you free from your brokenness/addictions/sins. We have been learning how to participate in God’s recovery program by reflecting on how A.A.’s Twelve Steps correlate with biblical principles. This Sunday, we are going to learn Step 6 and 7, “Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character” and “Humbly asked God to remove our shortcomings.”

Being Freed from Brokenness/Addictions/Sins part 3

God is able and willing to set you free from your brokenness/addictions/sins. We have been learning how to participate in God’s recovery program by reflecting on how A.A.’s Twelve Steps correlate with biblical principles. This Sunday, we are going to learn Step 5, “Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.”
