Sometimes the tragedies or difficulties we face feel particularly personal. It may feel like we’ve lost all track of God’s goodness in our lives. But in those moments, we are still called to be Christ’s light – even if the most light we can share is a stubborn memory of it.

Sometimes it will feel like we’re alone, but there is God: still here, still with us, even if that presence is not peaceful. Sometimes we have to first fight with God to be able to confess God. And our confession will always lead us into community.
