Girls in rural Zimbabwe miss several days of school each month and are unable to compete in sport as well. Commercially available feminine products are too expensive so the girls just stay at home.
A number of people from both within and beyond the Saint Matthew’s community got together to make sanitary pads for teenage girls that were then delivered by Nikki when she went home to visit her homeland. There are some photos of people working on this project at the bottom of the page.
After Nikki returned from Zimbabwe, she spoke during our worship service. The link below is a recording of her presentation. Between Nikki’s accent and her speaking very quickly, it may e a bit difficult to understands her, but what she said is worth listening to carefully.
The finished products.
