UMCOR and Bread for the World need you! On Saturday December 7th we will have 2 opportunities for you to share your baking talents and time. You may be considering sharing your baking talents for the Talent Tree this month and we would love if you would consider the Festival of Sharing. Please sign up HERE for bread and cookie baking, we will also have a paper sign up at church!
1. Bread Baking- We are looking for all types of breads-yeast, quick, pita, sourdough, gluten free, rye…. the list goes on and on-if its a bread product we want it. Remember on October 6th, World Communion Sunday when you shared or tried some breads that were from a variety of cultures? All types of bread are welcome, be creative! The bread that you bake will be sold and the money raised will go to benefit Bread for the World.
2. Cookies!- The cookie walk is back and we are asking you to make 3+ dozen of your favorite holiday cookies. The cookies you bake will be purchased and enjoyed and the money raised will go to benefit UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief). Gluten-free, vegan, nut-free cookies and breads are all welcome!
Things to know:
- We ask that you drop your baked goods off at the church on Friday evening (12/6) by 6 pm
- We encourage you to bring your baked goods in clearly marked (with your name) reusable containers so they will be available for you to pick up after the Festival
- Please clearly label if making a product that accommodates dietary restrictions (e.g. if you make gluten-free bread, nut-free cookies, egg-free, dairy-free, vegan)
- Compostable bags will be provided to all bread bakers for you to package your bread in and please use reused twist ties to close them
