Kenyan Festival Fundraiser

“Jambo” is a traditional greeting in Swahili!

Thanks to the generosity of the congregation, George Ochieng Odalo will be arriving in the US in a few weeks. George has always wanted to share some of the food and culture of Kenya with the people of Saint Matthew’s while he’s here visiting. This year, to raise money for the Slum Child Foundation, we will host a Kenyan Festival Fundraiser on Sunday, March 30 following the Sunday Service in Campbell Hall.

Featuring:
Nyama choma (grilled chicken)
Ugali (like grits, made with cornmeal)
Sukuma Wiki (sautéed leafy greens)
Mahragwe (beans and rice)
Biskuti ya Nazi (coconut macaroons)
Lemonade, Coffee, Tea

Beading crafts & basket weaving for kids
Kenyan music & dancing instruction for everyone

Tickets: $15 per person; $35 per family

Please reserve your tickets in advance to allow time to plan for food. Pay for admission at the door on March 30 via cash, check (to Melissa Rollins), credit card, or Venmo. Reserve your ticket ONLINE HERE, email melissa@saint-matthews.org, or see Melissa Rollins after Sunday services.
