Please come join us for a concert by the “Grenadilla Gang,” an ensemble of nine clarinet players. The “gang” will perform an eclectic variety of music, including that of the three B’s (Beethoven, Bach and….the Beatles?), Mendelssohn, Holst’s magnificent “Mooreside Suite” and excerpts from Kurt Weill’s “Three Penny Opera.” The ensemble is presenting this free concert in appreciation for the ongoing use of the church for its rehearsals. The hour-plus performance is Sunday November 12 at 3 PM in the sanctuary, followed by refreshments. Oh, in case you’re wondering…. the group gets its name from Grenadilla, a dark, dense hardwood from southeast Africa used in the making of virtually all high quality woodwind instruments, including the clarinet.
