Immigration Breakfast – TPS – What does it mean to real people
Temporary Protected Status. Have you ever wondered who has that status, and what it means for them?
In the past year alone, the Trump administration has rescinded Temporary Protected Status for hundreds of thousands of Haitians, Nicaraguans, and most recently, Salvadorans. These vibrant migrants communities have spent decades establishing roots in the United States, raising families, and have contributed immensely to the fabric of the nation. Now, they face the prospect of deportation back to impoverished homelands that have been negatively impacted by the foreign policies of the U.S.
Please join us for a short film and discussion about the play that some American children of El Salvadoran descent created and took to Congress last year. We will get to meet and hear from some TPS recipients and their families.
