Acolytes

Acolyte in Greek means companion, or attendant.

At the beginning of worship, acolytes symbolically carry the light of Christ into the sanctuary  to remind us of His presence and, at the end of worship,  carry it out “into the world” to remind us of our roles to do likewise.
