How can we live the life filled the Holy Spirit? How can we breathe in God’s breath of life and breathe it out to others? We are going to listen to what the Bible has to say about these questions and learn how John Wesley practiced them in his life.
We are going to learn what the Bible says about the nature of the Holy Spirit and the evidences of Her/His power in our lives.
Jesus commissioned us to be His witnesses. Where does your authority in witnessing to Jesus Christ come from? How do the people around you know that you are Jesus’ follower? LOVE! Most of us (if not all) probably agree that “they’ll know we are Christians by our love.” Then, how do I express the love Jesus commended me to live out? Am I really loving in His name or am I using it for something else?
The Bible is full of male-centered languages. And the Church has developed male-supremacy in human history by using the Bible. Was male-supremacy what God intended to give us through the Bible? If yes, what about the human equality and dignity God speaks through the entire Bible? If no, why was the Bible written in the male-centered language? We are going to learn what the Bible has to say about God’s mothering nature and what God wants us to do with it as God’s church.
